Welcome to the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation’s (FHGC) website. Forest Hills Gardens, founded in 1909, is the first planned garden community in the United States. The FHGC is a membership organization dedicated to preserving the quality of life and the architectural character of the community. Our membership is limited to property owners within Forest Hills Gardens. Designed a century ago by Grosvenor Atterbury and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., Forest Hills Gardens is an oasis in the very heart of Queens.
The FHGC is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Forest Hills Gardens community, including its streets and sidewalks, numerous parks and green spaces. It also oversees the approval of all architectural changes to the exterior of homes and buildings. We have included information and FAQs pertinent to these matters for easy referral by our residents.
Our website is a dynamic instrument designed to change and grow with the needs of our members—much like the community itself. We invite you to check back often.
